The Ninth National Yoga Olympiad (NYO) has begun at the Regional Institute of Education (RIE) in Mysuru, with over 400 students and 100 teachers participating. This year's theme, "Yoga for Self and Society," highlights yoga's role in personal and community well-being. NCERT Director Dinesh Prasad Saklani noted the event's growth since its 2016 inception and the return to physical gatherings post-pandemic.
Karnataka Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot inaugurated the event, and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will attend the valedictory function. The Olympiad celebrates International Yoga Day, encouraging youth participation in holistic development.
